台南市天主教黎明高級中學的羅家強校長，從教三十三年，是地理與生命教育的實踐者，更是生態永續的守護者。為改善校園淹水問題，學校於2016年引進JW工法，建構地下蓄水池與導水管，實現雨水回收與再利用，打造符合SDGs與ESG的綠建築校園。
此系統透過三次光觸媒消毒，提供馬桶用水、草皮澆灌與生態池循環之用。每日節水可達24公噸，每滴水循環三次，並有效減少積水與病媒蚊滋生。疫情期間，更建置紫外線殺菌與抗菌閱讀桌面，兼顧健康與永續。
這項系統結合環境保護與教育行動，符合多項永續目標，包括氣候行動、淨水與衛生、生態保育與永續城市。羅校長強調，每一項學校環境工程皆能為孩子的未來與地球盡一份心力，並鼓勵所有學校從行動中實踐ESG精神。
ESG代表環境保護（Environmental）、社會責任（Social）、公司治理（Governance），是組織實現永續發展的重要策略架構；SDGs則是聯合國推動的17項永續發展目標，為全球邁向共好與永續提供明確指引。

Principal Lo Chia-Chiang of Tainan’s Catholic Laiming High School has devoted 33 years to education, specializing in geography and life education. He is also a steadfast advocate of ecological sustainability. In 2016, the school adopted the JW Engineering Method to combat flooding, building an underground water reservoir and water diversion system, turning rainwater into a renewable resource—creating a green campus aligned with both SDGs and ESG principles.
The collected rainwater undergoes three stages of photocatalytic disinfection and is reused for toilet flushing, lawn irrigation, and ecological pond cycling. This system saves up to 24 metric tons of water per day, recycles every drop three times, and minimizes mosquito breeding by eliminating standing water. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the school also installed UV disinfection systems and antimicrobial reading surfaces, enhancing health and sustainability.
This system represents an integration of environmental protection and educational practice, supporting multiple SDGs, including climate action, clean water and sanitation, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable cities. Principal Lo emphasized that every environmental action on campus contributes meaningfully to students’ futures and the well-being of the planet. He encourages all schools to bring ESG values to life through concrete action.
ESG refers to Environmental, Social, and Governance—a strategic framework for organizational sustainability. SDGs, or Sustainable Development Goals, are the 17 goals established by the United Nations to guide global progress toward inclusive and lasting sustainability.
