【English Version】 In response to the escalating global climate crisis, TESA (Taiwan Ecological Sustainability Association) organized a series of lectures titled “Aligning with International Net-Zero Carbon Trends and Building Sustainable Campuses,” inviting leading experts to explore the role of education in sustainable development and net-zero transformation. Guest speakers from WSP, Tec-Design Construction, Schneider Electric, and Meters Energy Taiwan shared insights into digital innovation, low-carbon architecture, and smart energy management. Owen Sung, Vice President of WSP, emphasized, “Net-zero carbon is no longer an elective—it’s a required course,” urging academia and industry to become powerful links in a sustainable supply chain. Jenny Lin from Schneider Electric presented building automation and carbon reduction technologies, citing The Edge building in Amsterdam as a model of sustainability with its 28,000 IoT sensors optimizing energy efficiency. Vincent Liao, GM of Meters Energy Taiwan, introduced campus energy transformation strategies for efficiency and system upgrades. Architect Tsung-Wei Lu asserted that “design is the starting point of sustainability,” highlighting the crucial role of architecture in achieving carbon neutrality. TESA concluded the event by committing to future collaborations that promote green campuses and broader climate action, setting a model for sustainable practices in Taiwan’s education system. This lecture series was more than just a forum of ideas—it was a catalyst for change, inspiring action and offering a clear vision of sustainability in education.
